WEEDS Event: Canoe for Cattails
Saturday, June 18th, 5 pm
Bring your own canoe as we float the Jordan River downstream from Rogers Road in search of the edible flower spikes of the wonderful cattail. Likened to miniature corn-on-the-cob, this vegetable tastes mild and delicious. Try it out yourself! Float will end with a potluck at Sportsman's Park. Please bring your own plates and utensils. Free and open to the public.
Wild Edibles for Ecological Dietary Sustainability (WEEDS) is a Northern Michigan Foragers Group devoted to wildcrafting food for fun and sustenance as we reconnect to the Land. Check out our blog at http://eataweed.blogspot.com.
